School placement options for students who are gifted and have a learning issue

I am speaking about school placement at Dr. Kari Miller's office Thursday, February 11th.

The meeting begins at 8:00pm and ends at 10:00pm.

Some areas discussed:
*what schools expect of kids, e.g., which schools load on the homework, etc.;
*which schools are not a good match for kids with poor executive functioning;
*which are a poor match for kids with learned helplessness/anxiety/depression/emotional development lagging behind intellectual development
*how to help gifted kids cope with their school environment
*how to know when to advise a parent the school is a bad fit as opposed to the difficulties can be modified for or accommodated in the school setting or remediated within a reasonable time in a clinical setting
*ability to ask questions about specific students and situations.
*criteria for evaluating schools
